What we collect

When you create a note, we store the title, body, configuration (theme, mascot, music, persuasion style, language), and — if you provide them — your name and email. We also store a one-way salted hash of your IP for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP.

When someone opens or answers your note, we store: a browser-local session id, optional name, yes/no answer, optional reply, no-press count, time-to-yes, a hashed IP, user agent, browser locale, and two-letter country code (from Vercel's edge headers — never a precise location).

We log per-stage interaction events (opened → named → read → choice → answered) so creators can see drop-off and we can improve the product. These are tied to the browser-local session id, not to any account.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
  • We don't set third-party tracking cookies.
  • We don't profile or fingerprint users across the web.
  • We don't use your note content to train AI models.

Email

If you provide an email when creating a note, we use it to send you the note's share + private results links, and to notify you when someone responds. We use Resendas the email provider. We don't send marketing email.

Storage

Notes and responses are stored in Neon (Postgres, US-East). The site is hosted on Vercel. Notes have no expiration today but may be deleted by an admin if reported and found to violate our terms.

Your rights

To delete a note you created or request your data, email contact@massappraisals.com with the note's share URL or your private results URL.

Children

NoteLink is not intended for anyone under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child has provided data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Operator

NoteLink is operated by M.A.P.S (Mass Appraisal Property Services). Reach us at contact@massappraisals.com.
